A highly respected analyst has recently announced that Playstation is doomed. Despite a rough start and early debacle, Xbox has become a real competitor for the well-known gaming console. Even the botched launch of the Xbox One in 2013 hasn’t altered the growth rate of Microsoft’s gaming console, and Xbox Games Pass added a new dimension. What does that mean for the Playstation, though?

With the introduction of the Xbox Game Pass and the many recent acquisitions, including the latest and most notable acquisition of Activision, Xbox has redeemed itself for its previous debacles. Even the Xbox series X/S will be strong contenders for Playstation and a force to be reckoned with.

During the Real Deal Xbox podcast, the highly revered industry expert, Michael Pachter, announced that he believes Playstation has met its match. He highly doubts whether Playstation will still be relevant as we now know it within the next ten years. Xbox’s Game Pass is what’s believed to be making this difference.

Game Pass includes an extensive collection of titles and materials and makes it much more lucrative than what Playstation currently offers. However, there is another rumor that Playstation is working on its own Xbox Game Pass rival. There is no idea whether there is any truth to this, and if it is, how extensive and competitive will the content be? Could this all be a little too late?

It is worth noting that Pachter’s predictions don’t always come true. In 2009 Pachter claimed that consoles would become an archaic thing of the past after Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and yet here we are. While it’s almost impossible to consider Playstation collapsing, one thing does seem possible from this statement. Xbox is definitely becoming a serious contender.

While we wait to see what happens, here’s how to get the most from Xbox Games Pass.
